AREA AGENCY ON AGING

being and self-sufficiency of older adults

 

The MMDC was designated in 1980 by the Minnesota Board on Aging (MBA) as the Region 6 East Area Agency on Aging (AAA).  AAA's were established to allow local senior citizen participation in administering funds from the Older American's Act.

The AAA is governed by a 13 member advisory council.  Each of  the four counties has three members that either represent seniors or services providers serving seniors.  The 13th member is the chair.  The council provides direction and feedback to the Aging Director on services and projects funded, program development, and planning.  MMDC offers a variety of programs for older adults... including:
